Not an oxymoron! rapaport - 8/2/2004 12:27
Aw, c'mon! This isn't an oxymoron unless it's completely misunderstood (and, I admit, many people misunderstand it, either from ignorance or on purpose in order to make an oxymoronic joke :-). It's a shortened form of "Buffalo chicken wings", and, note, the word "Buffalo" should be capitalized, since it refers to the city of Buffalo, NY, where the dish of chicken wings originated. Note that here in Buffalo, it's never referred to as "Buffalo wings", but only as "wings" or "chicken wings". (And please don't misinterpret "Buffalo chicken wings" as suggesting that they are the wings from some species known as the "Buffalo chicken" :-)
