Hi Arizonahugs,
I have just read your post. What a terrible illness. I have seen a documentary on TV about this, but your comment was much more informative.
I suffered serious insomnia for many many years and experienced the hallucinations and paralysis frequently. I saw little devils in the room and felt that if I did not make my self move I would become possessed by these devils and die. You are right, it is TERRIFYING!
I suffered for nearly 30 years before being diagnosed with depression. The medication helped me sleep and the horrors disappeared. I still have one now and then. Too many people are unaware of these illnesses. I hope you are keeping better now and are managing to get some decent sleep at least now and then. It's no joke. It's a NIGHTMARE!
Best wishes
